I want to touch base about the D&D Encounters and D&D Lair Assault schedule.  As you all know, a number of changes have occurred over the past few weeks and I wanted to send out a global email to clarify some and give more news on the overall big picture.

For Encounters, Lost Crown of Neverwinter:

The main game will remain on Wednesdays at about 5 or 5:30 PM until 7 or 7:30 PM.  So far, I still have the following players who will be attending that game:

Dungeon Mastered by: Mr. John Kelly.  Erin, Brian Kelly, Dylan, John Balog, Shane (possibly) and one new player.  Brian and Campbell will be moving to Tuesdays for scheduling.  Is there anyone else interested in playing on Wednesdays?  Please email me ASAP so I can make sure you are expected.

The peripheral game will be on Tuesdays from about 4:30 or 5:00 PM  until about 6:30 or 7PM.  So far, I have the following players attending Tuesdays:

Dungeon Mastered by:  Daniel Garza.  John (Me), Julian and Nick Kadolph, Brian and Campbell Brantley.  If anyone else is interested in joining our Tuesday game, email me ASAP so we can expect you.

I have given John Balog the reward cards for our Wednesday players who turned in their survey cards, so check with him on Wednesday about those.  I will bring cards for those attending the Tuesday game.  As for Renown Card awards, I will be receiving attendance from John Kelly on Wednesday nights, so if you are entitled to one, please let John know and I will send one along with John Balog for you the next week.  (Erin, I have sent your first award with John Balog for this Wednesday). 

NOW, some CRAZY news Tonight, I picked up Julian and Nick from band practice and the band director informed me that everything has been moved back to normal and that there will no longer be practice on Wednesdays. O.o  This came as a relief, but it came a bit late and I have set up this week with the schedule that you see above.   I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason.  In this case, because the schedule was temporarily changed, we were able to create a Tuesday game, meaning that not only would my family get to continue playing, but also meant that Brian and Campbell would be able to continue.  I think that's a great thing since everyone who wants to play should be able to.    OK, BACK TO MY PLAN...  Since we now have a Tuesday AND a Wednesday game, people who's schedules fluctuate may have a better chance of getting to play.  Again, this is a good thing.  There will be occasions where the band director for my son's band will call a mandatory practice for Tuesdays.  In this case, we can then play on Wednesdays,  or if Daniel can't make it to DM, we can play Wednesdays... I could go on, but I think you all get the idea.

ON RECRUITING:  I encourage everyone who we have playing to actively recruit friends to play with one of our groups.  If you happen to recruit someone, not only do you get renown points and get closer to award cards, but you will get something extra as well, which I will cover next.  So, recruit, recruit recruit!!!!  More people usually equals more well-rounded groups which equals more fun!!!

  I am toying with the idea of holding a raffle for some out-of-print, VERY limited edition and DM exclusive materials to help me to obtain additional materials that will benefit our entire group(s).  I have checked with Wizards of the Coast and they actually encourage organizers, such as me, to hold this sort of thing in order to make sure we have the resources we need during play, such as miniatures for monsters, rulebooks, etc...  Since they do not pay or reimburse me for materials I purchase to promote or support the game, I would like to do this.  I vow to you all now, I am not doing this for profit of any kind, all money raised in this will go directly to game-related resources which will be shown to the group when we play.  So, what do you all think?  I have some amazing material that, as described, is IMPOSSIBLE to get any other way but being an organizer or through a prize such as this.  Tickets would be around $5.00 - $10.00 depending on how big a prize package you all as a group would want... I need to sell about $70- $100 worth in order to purchase most of the things we could use over the next couple seasons.  Several smaller packages, or one big one?  ONLY our group would be allowed to purchase tickets (active players) so the odds are better that YOU will win.  Let me know your thoughts, this is NOT mandatory and you will NOT have to participate in order to play.  I would have Adam, the manager of Heroes & Fantasies draw all winners to keep it all totally fair.


As of right now, I have the materials for Lair Assault.  I still do not have a permanent schedule worked out for it.  I want to hold my first Lair Assault sometime between the 1st and the 7th of September, the second on Saturday, September 10th.  Then I would like to see when most people can make it after that.  I think if we shoot for the 3rd of September, we probably could do it in the evening at Heroes & Fantasies.  I think a good start time would be about 5PM.  Give me your thoughts on this please.  Also, please email me and let me know you are interested in playing Lair Assault. 

THIS IS WHAT LAIR ASSAULT IS <CLICK>  YOU MUST create your own 5th level character under VERY STRICT rules which I will have to verify were followed.  Group discussion and planning is encouraged, since you will have to work as a team to succeed!
